This could save your business and even your life … slow business

Henry Ford did not invent the automobile. However, what he did bring us was the assembly line, which was perfected by 1914. Theories of supply chain management and project management are still being built on the groundwork established by Ford. The ingenious McDonalds business is also built on the Henry Ford assembly line principle. The assembly line made speed the biggest commodity in our consumer age. The faster the better. You will receive your product “in good time” was the Henry Ford motto. In investing, business and in life we crave fast results – this is our addiction. The fact of the matter is; faster is not better. Choosing the riskier investment to make money fast could cost you. So too, when getting the loan from the bank to invest in your business for fast growth is sometimes the worst thing that can happen. Why? When people have money to their disposal, just like the kid with a handful of money, they tend to spend money too quickly on non-essentials. This could ruin a business. Never grow too fast too quickly was the advice a client of mine gave me. To fast is also not good for your health either. Think of high blood pressure, stress, depression … need I say more. Learning to wait patiently for the flower to blossom is a valuable skill we need to learn. This will improve the way in which you make decisions and improve creativity. You will enjoy life more and definitely live longer. A previous colleague of mine use to say: “Give your soul time to catch with your body.” In business this seems to be true as well. Put the soul back into your business and embrace slow business.
